چکیده

This paper presented a modified efficient inductive powering link based on ASK modulator and proposed efficient classE power amplifier. The design presents the external part which is located outside the body to transfer power and data to the implanted devices such as implanted Microsystems to stimulate and monitoring the nerves and muscles. The system operated with low band frequency 10MHZ according to industrialscientific – medical (ISM) band to avoid the tissue heating. For external part, the modulation index is 11.1% and the modulation rate 7.2% with data rate 1 Mbit/s assuming Tbit = 1us. The system has been designed using 0.35-μm fabricated CMOS technology. The mathematical model is given and the design is simulated using OrCAD P Spice 16.2 software tool and for real-time simulation, the electronic workbench MULISIM 11 has been used. Keywords—Implanted devices, ASK techniques, Class-E power amplifier, Inductive powering and low-frequency ISM band.

Frequency Splitting Analysis and Compensation Method for Inductive Wireless Powering of Implantable Biosensors

Inductive powering for implanted medical devices, such as implantable biosensors, is a safe and effective technique that allows power to be delivered to implants wirelessly, avoiding the use of transcutaneous wires or implanted batteries. Wireless powering is very sensitive to a number of link parameters, including coil distance, alignment, shape, and load conditions. The optimum drive frequenc...

Optical ASK and FSK Modulation By Using Quantum Well Transistor Lasers

In this paper, transistor lasers (TLs) are used as an optical modulator for generation of ASK(Amplitude Shift Keying) and FSK (Frequency Shift Keying) optical signals. Our analysis is based on continuity equation, rate equations, and the theory of discontinuity of quasi-fermi level at the abrupt junction. Our simulation results indicate that, the specification of ASK and FSK optical signals, ar...

An inlaid electroplated copper coil for on-chip powering of microelectromechanical systems devices

Inductive powering is promising for freeing microsystems incorporating microelectromechanical systems devices from wire tethering. Planar integrated coils used to intercept electromagnetic energy typically have large internal resistance, and hence low power transfer efficiency. We report a fabrication procedure developed to electroplate metal microstructures of large dimensions inlaid into sili...
